The Presiding Archbishop of Church of God Mission International (CGMi), Most Rev. Margaret Benson-Idahosa (JP, OON) has highlighted the benefits of the cross of Calvary to humanity.

Speaking at the 2023 CGM International Pastor’s Conference held at Balm of Gilead, Sapele Road, Benin City from January 1 to 14th, 2023, under the theme, FOCUS ON CHRIST TO ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF THE CROSS, Idahosa said the last Adam (Jesus Christ), recovered everything at the tree of Calvary (Acts 5:30-31) after the first Adam lost everything at the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3).

Another benefit is that Christ has redeemed man from the curse of the law (Genesis 3:17-19, Galatians 3:13) and took the place of man in redemption (Romans 3:23, 5:8), restored peace at the cross (Isaiah 60:18) and healed all sicknesses and diseases (Isaiah 53:5). Through the shedding of Christ’s blood on the cross, the sins of man which were many have been washed away.

According to her, the cross already dealt with the past, present and future of man and revealed God’s plan for mankind (Matthew 26:64).

She further stated that Jesus Christ replaced man’s garment of sin with the garment of redemption when his garment was taken away and that he tore the heavens open, giving man direct access to God (Mark 15:38).

“It is the cross that can fix the past, the present and the future. The cross is more than just a sign. It is a proof of your redemption and adoption,” she said.

Thousands of Pastors registered for and participated in the conference. Further details on CGMI can be accessed on IWOTVPLUS, a Free-To-Air Satellite Television and via YuTube.                                                           WRITTEN BY REV. ALBINUS CHIEDU
