Christ-Centered Great Impact Begins At CGMI Lagos Bishopric Convention 2026
The 2026 Lagos Bishopric Convention (LBC) of Church Of God Mission International, (CGMI) with the theme, Focus On Christ To Make Great Impact, started yesterday, September 2, 2026 at Lagos Bishopric Headquarters, Mafoluku with amazing display of God’s capacity and evidential experience of his presence.
In his welcome speech at the four-day event, the Bishop of Lagos Bishopric, Bishop Curtis Fianu said LBC 2026 “is not merely an event on our calendar. It is a divine appointment, a moment set apart for renewal, revival and the strengthening of our collective faith.”
“We stand today as witnesses to the unfailing mercies of God, who has preserved us and brought us together in unity of spirit. This convention is a testament to his faithfulness and a call to deeper commitment in our walk with him,” he said.
Delivering his opening address, Chairman of LBC 2026, Rev. Kingsley Amaje said FOCUS ON CHRIST TO MAKE GREAT IMPACT reminds us of where our attention must remain. In a world filled with distractions, pressures, competing voices and changing values, we are called back to the one who must remain at the centre of our lives-Jesus Christ.
“For when we focus on Christ, He gives us great grace, wisdom and strength to make great impact,” he said.
Yesterday, first day of the event also featured a colourful parade of various provinces under Lagos Bishopric of CGMI, an impactful ministration by the Lagos Bishopric Choir alongside a far-reaching sermon by the Guest Speaker, Apostle Gentle Shedrack.
The convention continues today with a morning and an afternoon session. A vigil tomorrow, Friday night will feature breakout sessions, intercessory prayers, health talk, various choir ministrations and lots more.
