Clerics Discuss Unity, Purpose, Life Of Service, Impact At LBC 2026
The power of oneness and unity, purpose and a life of service in making sustained impact formed the crux of discussions at the panel session of the on-going Lagos Bishopric Convention (LBC) of Church of God Mission International under the theme, FOCUS ON CHRIST TO MAKE GREAT IMPACT.
Speaking on “The Power Of Oneness In Making Impact, the National Presbyter of Abule-Egba Province, Rev. Faithful Ndeti said the power of oneness in the family and in the church is so critical that it was prayed for by Jesus Christ in John 17:1-11, stating that the power of oneness is the power of unity, agreement and togetherness.
He said oneness or unity multiplies strength, attracts God’s blessings, produces stability and growth, makes things possible, multiplies potentials, beautifies and dignifies, and reflects true spirituality. It also makes it difficult to be defeated.
“It is a selfish lifestyle not to support a good or progressive idea just because it is not originating from you. We should see ourselves in church as a family because the blood of Jesus Christ that binds us together is stronger than the blood of biological siblings,” said Ndeti, who explained that oneness is generated by love.
In his presentation on Modelling A Life Of Service For Maximum Impact, the National Presbyter of Ajao Province, Rev. Nath McAbraham-Inajoh said impactful service is targeted and prepared for as referenced in Ephesians 4:11 and requires adequate training.
He emphasized the importance of training and retraining to elicit the quality of service desired in various spheres of life, including the church. He described service as an activity rendered for the welfare of others, stating that without humility, it is impossible to serve as modeled by Jesus Christ in Mark 10:45.
Speaking on Purpose: The Compass For Lasting Impact, the National Presbyter of Bariga Province, Rev. David-West Iselema explained purpose as “the compass that gives you direction to your destination” and that anyone without a direction is not going anywhere in life.
He said purpose discovery is progressive but very critical, and that it is about discovering the rule of your life, which is peculiar, different from that of any other person.
The National Presbyter of Oshodi Province, Rev. Felix Ubama spoke on the topic, Deeply Rooted: The Secret Of Sustained Impact. According to him, the secret lies in abiding in your source as referenced in John 15:5 and character building as instructed in 2nd Timothy 2:2.
He stressed the importance of teaching children the ways of the Lord from the home and exposing them to the children’s training class in church where they can be trained.
The panel session was moderated by Rev. Felix Agbonlahor. Today’s evening session begins at 5:00pm. A vigil tomorrow, Friday night will feature breakout sessions, intercessory prayers, health talk, various choir ministrations and lots more.
